What We Do
What We Do
We provide support to low income families in Langkawi.
Support for families
The Charity Club Langkawi offers support to vulnerable families on low incomes. We conduct an assessment of each family, and provide services based on need. Support is provided monthly or only in emergencies, depending on a family's individual circumstances.

Building
We repair and improve homes to make them safe, waterproof and habitable. We are not able to carry out work on rented properties. All work is done on an approved estimate basis.
Food
We give monthly support according to need for basic food and family essentials, including infant milk and nappies. We also provide emergency food aid for families who find themselves in temporary crisis.

Education
We support education for children and youth at all levels - from kindergarten all the way up to college/university. For primary/secondary schoolchildren, support includes expenses for uniforms, sportswear, books, fees and transport. Tertiary student support covers more, depending on the requirements of the learning facility. Our support is based on the needs of each student and family.
Family Support
Supplemental income payments are made to low income families to help with rent, utility support and unexpected costs such as motorbike repairs.

Medical
We help families to access medical treatment provided through the public health system by supporting travel and subsistence as well as necessary medical supplies and other costs. These have included major and life-changing surgeries. We also support older persons and individuals with disabilities to purchase walking aids, wheelchairs, glasses, adult diapers and other necessary provisions to help them live independently and with dignity.
Our Impact
Since our NGO registration in 2010, we have distributed over 1,450,000 RM (about US $330,000) to families in need. The majority has been spent in Langkawi, also benefitting the local business community.
We have provided a lifeline and a helping hand in housing, health, education and essential items for over 200 families. Our volunteers also continue to work hard to identify more families who need our help.
